Backhand Slap is a hardcore punk band originating from the Tricity area and Tczew, founded in 2017 by musicians previously involved with Idol Falls, Ratrace and Pneuma. The group quickly drew attention with intense live shows and a raw, straightforward sound rooted in the tradition of classic American hardcore.
In 2018 BHS released their debut EP Walk Your Way, followed in 2021 by another EP, Cantona, recorded at Humidor Records. The material stands out for its aggressive energy, authenticity and the uncompromising expression characteristic of the band.
The band regularly performs in Poland and abroad, appearing among others at festivals such as Summer Dying Loud, where their performances were met with exceptionally enthusiastic reception. Backhand Slap is now regarded as one of the more interesting acts of the contemporary hardcore/punk scene, known for energetic concerts and intense interaction with the audience.
