Damnation is a legend of Polish death metal, founded in 1991 in Sopot. Their style is brutal, fast and dark death metal, often addressing themes of Satanism, anti-Christianity and the darker aspects of existence.
Biography:
The band was founded by guitarist Leszek "Les" Dzięgielewski in 1991, and just two years later Damnation released their debut demo Everlasting Sickness, which sold 800 copies and drew the attention of the scene. In the following years, the second demo Forbidden Spaces (1994) and the debut album Reborn… (1995) were released, recorded for Pagan Records and regarded as one of the classic releases of Polish death metal. A year later the album Rebel Souls (1996) was released, followed in 1997 by a split with Behemoth and the EP Coronation. After releasing their third album Resist (2000), the band suspended its activity.
In 2013, Damnation returned to the stage, and in 2025 reactivated once again with a new lineup including Baal Ravenlock (vocals), Necrosodom (guitar), Kaos (bass) and Michał Łysejko (drums). The band announced new releases and a series of concerts at Gryf Metal X-Mass and Moleskin Fest.
