Hate, founded in Warsaw in 1990, has long been regarded as a consistent and uncompromising band, described as a “compact and unstoppable death metal monster”. Since the album Tremendum (2017), the group has drawn inspiration from nature and its symbolism. As Atf Sinner emphasizes, the relationship between humans and nature - internal, external, and the one observed from a distance - drives subsequent releases. Auric Gates of Veles (2019) explored Slavic visions of death, while the latest Bellum Regiis focuses on the human need for power, wealth, glory, and faith, revealing the mechanisms that govern the struggle for dominance.
Since their debut Daemon Qui Fecit Terram (1996), the band has released more than a dozen acclaimed albums, constantly evolving their sound. On the thirteenth record Bellum Regiis, the quartet - Atf Sinner (vocals, guitar), Domin (guitar), Nar-Sil (drums) and Tiermes (bass) - presents the most aggressive and mature style in its history. Nine compositions combine precision, atmosphere, and depth, while the production by David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Katatonia) gives the whole album a raw intensity. The lyrics are more personal than on Rugia (2021), and the entire album forms a sonic and visual journey through the theme of power and its consequences.
