Sznur - a black metal project from Wałbrzych, active since 2017 and known for its uncompromising, pathological aesthetic and radical approach to form. The band was founded on the initiative of Seth, who independently recorded the material for the debut album Sznur. Since its inception, the group has consistently developed its distinctive style, built around misanthropy, death and nihilistic narratives.
Sznur's discography includes four full-length albums, including the most recent Ludzina (2023), which received very positive coverage in metal media. The band’s music is characterized by aggressive, rhythmic black metal in which brutality intertwines with solemn, marching passages and an overwhelming atmosphere. The compositions are expansive, filled with heavy slowdowns, moments of silence and simple yet evocative guitar motifs.
The band regularly appears at events within the extreme scene, including festivals such as Metal Kommando Fest, where their performances stand out for their intensity and dark presentation. The group works with Godz Ov War Productions, which is responsible for releasing their material as well as reissuing their early recordings.
Today, Sznur is one of the most distinctive formations in Polish black metal - masked, merciless and consistently building its own repulsively-hypnotic world of sound.
